Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions govern the provision of dog behaviour and training services by Train With Chelsie, referred to as "the Company," to the client, referred to as "the Owner," for the Owner's dog(s).



1. Services Provided

1.1 The Company agrees to provide dog training and behaviour services as agreed with the Owner. Services may include group training classes, one-to-one training sessions, behaviour consultations, workshops, or related support.


1.2 The Company will exercise reasonable care, skill and professionalism in delivering all services, prioritising the safety, welfare and wellbeing of both dogs and handlers.


1.3 Training plans, advice and guidance are provided based on the information supplied by the Owner and the trainer’s professional judgement. Outcomes may vary depending on consistency, handling, environment and individual dog factors.


1.4 The Company reserves the right to adjust training methods, session structure or exercises where necessary to suit the dog’s welfare and learning needs.



2. Bookings & Cancellations

2.1 All bookings must be made in advance and are subject to availability.


2.2 Payment may be required at the time of booking to secure a space in classes or appointments.


2.3 The Owner agrees to provide a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling of one-to-one sessions.


2.4 Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may be non-refundable.


2.5 Missed group classes are non-refundable and non-transferable.


2.6 The Company reserves the right to cancel, postpone or reschedule sessions due to illness, venue issues, unsafe weather conditions, emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances. Where possible, alternative dates will be offered.



3. Owner Responsibilities

3.1 The Owner confirms their dog is fit and healthy to participate in training.


3.2 Dogs must be up to date with vaccinations (or titre tested where applicable), flea and worm treatments.


3.3 The Owner agrees to inform the Company of any medical conditions, injuries or behavioural concerns that may affect participation.


3.4 The Owner is responsible for their dog’s behaviour and actions at all times during sessions. Dogs must remain under the Owner’s control unless otherwise instructed.


3.5 The Company reserves the right to refuse participation or remove any dog displaying aggressive, dangerous or severely disruptive behaviour.



4. Health & Safety

4.1 Training environments include inherent risks associated with working around dogs, equipment and outdoor/public spaces.


4.2 The Owner accepts these risks and agrees to follow all safety instructions given by the Company.


4.3 Children attending sessions must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult.


4.4 The Company reserves the right to stop any exercise or session where safety may be compromised.



5. Training Methods

5.1 The Company uses science-based, positive reinforcement training methods.


5.2 The use of harsh handling, punishment-based tools or aversive equipment (including but not limited to prong collars, shock collars, choke chains or slip leads used punitively) is not permitted during sessions.


5.3 The Company may refuse services where training equipment or handling methods conflict with its welfare standards.



6. Liability & Insurance

6.1 The Company holds appropriate public liability and professional indemnity insurance.


6.2 While all reasonable care is taken, the Company cannot be held liable for injury, loss or damage to dogs, people or property except where caused by proven negligence.


6.3 The Owner voluntarily participates in training and accepts responsibility for their dog’s actions.


6.4 The Owner agrees to notify the Company of any incidents, injuries or concerns arising during or after sessions.



7. Payments

7.1 The Owner agrees to pay fees as advertised or quoted at the time of booking.


7.2 Payments must be made by the stated due date to secure and maintain bookings.


7.3 Late payments may result in loss of booking or refusal of future services.



8. Media & Privacy

8.1 Personal information will be handled in accordance with data protection laws and the Company’s Privacy Policy.


8.2 Photos or videos may be taken during sessions for training, educational or promotional purposes. The Owner may opt out in writing.


8.3 The Owner agrees to provide accurate contact details and emergency information.



9. Termination

9.1 Either party may cancel ongoing one-to-one training with 7 days’ written notice.


9.2 The Company reserves the right to refuse or terminate services immediately if:

• Safety is at risk

• Welfare concerns arise

• The Owner breaches these Terms

• Payments are not made as agreed



10. General

10.1 The Company may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be available on the website.


10.2 The Owner agrees to inform the Company of any relevant changes to their details or their dog’s condition.


10.3 It is the Owner’s responsibility to ensure their own insurance covers their dog and personal property.



By booking or participating in services provided by Train With Chelsie, the Owner confirms they have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
